As probably all of you know, October is breast cancer awareness month. This topic is near and dear to my heart. Two of my friends have recently been diagnosed with and are fighting breast cancer. Many of you may not know that I had my own scare finding a lump in my breast not too long after Elizabeth was born. Thankfully, mine seemed to be a result of a granuloma that formed after my breast reduction, but that was the scariest time in my life. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your self-breast exams and get your mammograms. Please also do what you can to help us find a cure for this killer either by walking in a local event supporting research or donating what and if you can. I was watching the View today and heard about an organization called Armyofwomen.org where you can also go to sign up and help with research. Their goal is to get 1 million women to sign up. You are NOT obligated to participate, but if they contact you, you can help with studies. It may be going in somewhere for testing or it may be something as simple as filling out a questionnaire. They need a variety of women: young, old, menopausal and not, black, white, you name it! They also have a cute Army of women necklace you can order for $5. I can't wait to get mine!! There you go girls, save the ta-tas! ;-)
