When we moved into this house there was a VERY overgrown Bradford Pear tree in the front yard. We learned to love it after a good trimming and have enjoyed the beautiful blooms in the spring and the reds, yellows and oranges when the season changes into fall. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago Beau noticed that it was splitting down at the trunk. The split is on the left side which would leave a good chunk of the tree landing on the neighbors car and/or house. We have resigned ourselves to the fact that it will have to come down . . . totally. Beau and I spent a good amount of the day yesterday cutting and cleaning up what we could get to for now. The dump wasn't open to allow us to keep cutting and the trash people will only take so much on trash day. Let me just say that no matter what, it was a TON of work, so we'll hire someone to finish the rest and grind the stump. I already have two estimates, so the sooner the man can get here, the better. Beau is upset . . . he loves that tree, but I told him we'd plant our own for our family and we can enjoy watching it grow.
